Jamie Nichols

Founder & Executive Producer

Celebrate Dance!


Jamie was an inaugural invitee to LADI in 1999. The next year she signed on as a producer and has been with us every since.


She is a vital contributor to every aspect of the concert: as an adjudication jurist, ambassador, PR expert.


She is a passionate and technically articulate teacher critically acclaimed for the emotional intensity and eloquence of her dancing and choreography.


She is the recipient of four Lester Horton Dance Awards for Outstanding Achievement in: Teaching, Individual Performance Female, Restaging- Revival-Reconstruction, Producing a Festival or Series (Celebrate Dance 2006) and was awarded the 2006 Dance Resource Center’s Meritorious Award for Extensive Years of Service –Overall Volunteer Community Service and Leadership.


For 23 years she was Artistic Director of Fast Feet, a contemporary dance company that performed extensively in festivals, showcases and self produced concerts in Southern California, taught dance & movement professionally in Los Angeles since 1978 and choreographed and danced for film & video.


An active member of the professional dance community she has served as an adjudicator of arts awards and grants, on the Board of The Jazz Dance LA Foundation, The Dance Resource Center of Los Angeles, producer of The Los Angeles Dance Invitational for six years, Executive Producer of the 2007 Lester Horton Dance Awards at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale and is Executive Producer of the critically successful and award winning annual Celebrate Dance festival held at the Alex Theatre.

 

Mimi Stabile

Entrepreneur, Ballet Instructor


Mimi is Stanley Holden’s daughter, and it’s only fitting that she joins the LADI production team. Her experience as a dancer and teacher has been a valued and much appreciated addition.


She trained with Royal Ballet masters including her dad, until moving to Philadelphia as an apprentice with Pennsylvania Ballet at age 16.


She was with Pennsylvania Ballet for six years, and danced with Stanley in 1979 when he came out of retirement for the company in Coppelia.


Mimi later joined San Francisco Ballet under the direction of the late Michael Smuin. She was cast for her comic and dramatic abilities. Principal roles include Prodigal Son and Medea.


She also teaches Pilates, and is a licensed skin care therapist.

Marc Haupert, Principal

Marc Haupert and Associates


Marc has over 35 years of experience in non-profit organization, management and fiscal administration. But most importantly to LADI, he has been an invaluable advisor and consultant since long before its first concert, and remains an ever-present source of insight and ideas as the Board and producers move LADI into its new phase as a summer festival.


Marc has a strong background in issue advocacy, evaluation and supervision of care and prevention services for diverse communities affected by HIV/AIDS.


He is adept at bringing non-profit organizations into alignment with their stated vision and mission utilizing his strong negotiation and interpersonal skills and extensive public speaking experience.


His experience as an executive director has consistently been coupled with direct involvement in private and public fund development tasks.


In 2004, Marc formed Marc Haupert and Associates, a Los Angeles-based consulting firm that specializes in executive management, strategic planning, program development, branding, fund development and systems development and measurement in the non-profit sector.

 

Michael Roberts


Michael Roberts was born in Sussex, England. He began playing the piano at age four. From 1967 to 1975 Michael was productio
n stage manager for Harold Prince in London's West End.


He has been accompanying and composing for dance for over three decades. Playing for such notables as Finis Jhung,  Stanley Holden, David Howard, Juliet Prowse, Mark Morris, Alvin Alley, American Ballet Theater, The Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Mikhail Baryshnikov. He has produced four ballet Class and one Modern Dance CD’s as well as 1 New Age and 1 special CD "Reflections" a musical journey through the years.


 Currently he is music and technical coordinator for the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute at Colburn School for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles California


In 2004 he was awarded a special Lester Horton award.
